Member Portal overview

Take a tour of the Member Portal, your personal space to follow your programs and connections and set your preferences and availabilities.

The Member Portal is your personal space on RandomCoffee. From the menu on the left, you can follow your programs and connections, and tell RandomCoffee who you would like to meet and when.

Your admin can turn off access to the Member Portal. In that case, you cannot use it, but you still receive your RandomCoffee messages by email, Slack or Microsoft Teams.

Home

This is where you land when you log in to the Member Portal. It gives you an overview of your programs and upcoming sessions:

  • When a session is open and you have not answered yet, a card asks “🛎️ New session coming! Do you want to participate?”. Answer with “Yes, I’m In” or “Not this time”.
  • Three counters show “Programs for you right now”, the number of people you have been matched with, and “Next session starts on”.
  • “Programs for you at [your company]” lists the programs you are part of. Click “See all” to open “My Programs”.

Scroll down to find two more sections.

Create your own opportunities

Do not want to wait for the next session? Click “Find someone” to get an instant match. Set your criteria to choose the member categories you want and pick someone from the suggestions, or choose “Let the magic happen” to be matched with someone at random.

This section only appears when instant matching is available in your workspace. See Get an instant match.

More actions

Two shortcuts take you to “Define my availabilities” and “See my network”.

My Programs

“My Programs” lists all the programs you are part of. Click the arrow next to a program to see its details, in three tabs:

  • “About”: the program description, its creation date, the number of people in its audience, its matching algorithm and group size, and your participation.
  • “Sessions”: the planning of the program’s sessions.
  • “History”: the history of matches in the program.

To leave a program, click “Stop participating” in the “About” tab, then confirm. You no longer receive matches from this program until you click “Participate again”. See Unsubscribe.

Network

“Network” opens “My connections”, where you find all your matches from all your programs. Your connections are sorted in three columns: “Matched”, “Scheduled” and “Met”. Drag and drop each connection from one column to the next as you plan and hold your meetings, or use “Mark as scheduled” and “Mark as done” in the ”…” menu of a column to move all its connections at once.

My Preferences

In “My Preferences”, tell RandomCoffee which profiles you would like to meet or avoid. Click “New preference” to add one. You can add as many as you like and reorder them: the higher in the list, the more important for you.

The matching algorithm takes your preferences into account. Your admin’s matching rules come first, so a preference cannot always be met. See Set your matching preferences.

Availabilities

In “Availabilities”, set your “Timezone” and your hours for each day of the week in “Matching availability”. If you do not enter any availability, you are considered available at all times.

On the same page, you can also:

  • add “Date-specific hours”, for example for a particular event;
  • pause your participation in “Snooze your participation” (see Snooze your participation);
  • connect your Google or Outlook calendar in “Calendar Apps”, so that RandomCoffee avoids the slots where you are busy. RandomCoffee combines both: it only offers slots within your hours that are also free in your calendar.

When your program uses a booking page, your match message lets you pick a slot where all the members of your group are available. See Define your availabilities and Book a meeting with your match.
