Set matching preferences
Tell RandomCoffee which profiles you would like to meet or avoid, and rank your preferences by importance.
You can set preferences to state which profiles you would like to meet or avoid. Preferences are private and optional: nobody knows who you would like to meet.
Create a preference
-
Open your Member Portal.
Sign in at app.random-coffee.com/login. You land on your home page.
-
Open “My Preferences”.
Click “My Preferences” in the menu on the left, then click “New preference”.
-
Choose the type of preference.
- “I want to meet specific profiles”: you are connected with these profiles as often as possible.
- “I want to avoid specific profiles”: you are connected with these profiles as rarely as possible.
-
Select the profiles.
Under “What types of profiles do you want to meet?” (or “…to avoid?”), select one or more values among the categories of your workspace, for example a team or a city.
-
Click “Create preference”.
The preference appears in your list, with the number of members who match it.
Manage your preferences
- Add as many preferences as you like.
- Rank them by importance: drag and drop a preference to move it. The highest in the list is the most important for you.
- Edit or delete a preference: click the pencil icon next to it, then click “Save preference” or “Delete preference”.
The algorithm optimizes your matches based on your preferences. Your admin’s matching rules come first, so a preference cannot always be met.
