Set up your account

Create your RandomCoffee account and workspace, choose your main goal, and start from a dashboard that guides your first steps.

Setting up RandomCoffee takes a few minutes: create your account, verify your email, create your workspace and tell us your main goal. You then land on your dashboard, which guides you through your first steps and recommends program templates for your goal.

  1. Create your account.

Open the sign-up link you received. On “Create your account for FREE”, enter your “First name”, “Last name” and “Business email”, then choose a “Password”. No credit card is required.

Your password needs at least 12 characters, with a lowercase letter, an uppercase letter, a number and a special character (! @ # $ % ^ & *). The rules are shown under the field and checked as you type. The “Sign up free” button becomes available once they are all met.

    Click “Sign up free”.

  2. Verify your email.

We send a verification link to your business email. Click it: your account is activated, you are signed in and you go straight to the creation of your workspace.

The verification link is valid for 3 days. If you have not created your workspace a day later, we send you a reminder. If the link has expired, the page it opens offers “Resend Activation Link” to receive a new one.

  3. Create your workspace.

On “Create your workspace”, fill in:

    • “Workspace name”: the name of your organization.
    • “Workspace link”: the address of your workspace, app.random-coffee.com/account/ followed by this link. It is filled in from the workspace name, and you can change it. Use lowercase letters, numbers and dashes. Each link is unique.
    • “What’s your organization size?”: choose from 1-10 up to 1000+.
    • “What best describes your role?”: for example Manager or Director.

Click “Continue”. Your workspace is created and you are its admin.

  4. Choose your main goal.

On “What’s your main goal using RandomCoffee?”, select the card that matches your main goal, then click “Continue”. RandomCoffee uses it to recommend the program templates that fit your needs on your dashboard.

Not sure yet? Click “I have no precise idea for now”. Your dashboard then suggests templates from the full library.

  5. Open your dashboard.

“You’re all set!” Click “Go to dashboard”. Your dashboard opens, and a welcome email with your first steps arrives in your inbox.

Once your workspace is created, you can stop at any step. The next time you open your workspace, RandomCoffee takes you back to where you left off.

Your first steps from the dashboard

Your dashboard opens with “Get started with RandomCoffee”, a checklist that walks you through the launch of your first program:

  • “Get started with our video tour”: a two-minute guided tour of the platform.
  • “Add members”: invite, import or sync your people. See Ways to add members and Invite members.
  • “Create your first program”: start from a template and adapt it to your culture and goals. See Create a program.
  • “Launch a session”: schedule single or recurring sessions for your program.

Each step is checked off as soon as it is done. Below the checklist, “Recommended templates” shows the program templates that match your main goal, and “See full library” opens all templates.

Your members can receive their matches by email, in Slack or in Microsoft Teams. To run your programs where your team already works, connect Slack or Microsoft Teams.

If you start from Slack or Microsoft Teams

When you sign up by installing the RandomCoffee app from Slack or Microsoft Teams, the setup creates your first program and connects it to your team right away.

RandomCoffee creates your workspace from your Slack workspace, so there is no form to fill in.

  1. On “Welcome to RandomCoffee”, click “Let’s go”.
  2. On “Let’s create your first program”, choose a goal under “What’s your main goal?”, then a use case under “What use case do you plan to introduce to your members?”. The “Program preview:” shows its settings and messages. Click “Continue”: RandomCoffee creates the program. You can customize it fully before your first session.
  3. On “Connect your channel”, choose the Slack channel to use, then click “Connect”. The members of this channel are synced to RandomCoffee automatically and take part in the program.
  4. On “You’re all set!”, click “Go to dashboard”.
