Member Portal access

Turn your members' access to the Member Portal on or off, and choose which of its sections they can use.

The Member Portal is enabled by default, with all its sections.

What is the Member Portal?

The Member Portal is a personal RandomCoffee space for each member. It shows the programs they take part in, the next sessions they are invited to and their history of connections. Members also set their own options there, such as their availabilities and their matching preferences.

The Member Portal is optional. You can run RandomCoffee without it.

Turn the Member Portal or its sections on or off

  1. Open the settings.

    Click the gear icon at the top right of the app, go to “Configuration”, then select the “Member’s portal access” card.

  2. Turn the Member Portal on or off.

    Use the “Member portal access” switch (“Enable access to the member portal”).

    A confirmation window lists the effects of your choice. When you turn the Member Portal off:

    • RandomCoffee service pages no longer mention the Member Portal;
    • the welcome email for new members no longer mentions it;
    • members cannot access their accounts until you turn it back on (administrators keep their access);
    • instant match is disabled.

    Click “OK” to confirm.

  3. Choose the sections members can use.

    While the Member Portal is on, you can turn off some of its sections:

    • “Enable “Calendar integrations” section”: when off, members cannot sync their calendar with RandomCoffee.
    • “Enable “Invite coworkers” section”: when off, members cannot invite other people to join your workspace.
    • “Enable “Instant match” section”: when off, members cannot get an instant match with other people.
  4. Save.

    Click “Save” to apply your changes.
