Password reset policy

The password reset policy makes sure that all members update their password within a timeframe you choose.

Set the password reset policy

By default, RandomCoffee never asks members to update their password.

1. Open the setting.

   Go to “Settings” > “Configuration” and click the “Password Reset Policy” card.

2. Choose the delay.

   In “Require members to change their password”, select “Every 30 days”, “Every 60 days”, “Every 90 days” or “Every 120 days”, then click “Save”.

3. Confirm your choice.

   In the “Change password auto-reset delay” window, click “Confirm”.

To turn the policy off, select “Never” and click “Save”.

What happens once the policy is active

• Members who have not changed their password within the delay must update it the next time they log in. After that, they must change it again at the end of each delay.
• Members who are logged in when you activate the policy see the password renewal pop-up as soon as their page refreshes. They must change their password to regain access to RandomCoffee.
• The same applies to you: if your password falls within the criteria, the pop-up appears as soon as your page refreshes.

Members see a ”🔐 Set new password” pop-up that tells them their organization has activated automatic password renewal. They cannot close it: they enter their old password and choose a new one. Members can read how to update their password.

Best practices

• If possible, tell members about the change before you activate the policy, to limit disruption.
• Activate the policy during off-peak hours, to reduce the impact on members who are logged in to their Member Portal.
