# Update your profile

Keep your profile information up to date from your Member Portal so that your matches are more relevant.

import { Steps } from '@prosefly/astro-components';
import Callout from '@components/Callout.astro';
import MemberMyProfile from '@components/app-screens/screens/MemberMyProfile.astro';

The more up-to-date information you enter in your profile, the more relevant your matches will be.

## Edit your profile

<Steps>

1. **Open your Member Portal.**

 Sign in at [app.random-coffee.com/login](https://app.random-coffee.com/login).

2. **Open your profile.**

 Click the profile icon in the top bar of the app. The "Profile settings" menu opens on the "General" section, with your "My Profile" page.

3. **Complete or correct your information.**

 The page shows your first name, last name and email, then the fields your administrator created for members (for example department, city or hobby), with the values already entered.

 <MemberMyProfile alt="The "My Profile" page with the name and email, then the fields created by the administrator, such as department, years of experience, city and hobby, and the "Save" button" />

4. **Click "Save".**

 A message confirms that your profile has been updated.

</Steps>

## Fields you cannot edit

- **Your email** cannot be changed from your profile.
- **Some fields are read-only**, for example when they are filled in through a form. Hover over the icon next to the field name to see where the value comes from.
- **Fields managed by another tool of your company**, such as your HR software, are kept up to date by that tool and do not appear on your profile.
- If your company provisions accounts automatically (SCIM), your name and email are managed by your company: ask your RandomCoffee admin to change them.

 Your profile is not the only way to get better matches. You can also tell RandomCoffee which profiles you would like to meet or avoid with [matching preferences](/members/profile-and-preferences/matching-preferences/).
