# Update your password

Reset a forgotten password from the login page, or change your password from your Member Portal.

You can reset your password from the login page if you forgot it, or change it from your Member Portal if you are signed in.

## Reset a forgotten password

<Steps>

1. **Go to the login page.**

   Open [app.random-coffee.com/login](https://app.random-coffee.com/login) and click "Forgot your password?".

2. **Enter your email.**

   On the "Set new password" page, enter the email you use for RandomCoffee, then click "Send instructions".

3. **Follow the instructions in the email.**

   Check your inbox: we send you an email with the steps to set your new password.

## Change your password from your Member Portal

<Steps>

1. **Open your Member Portal.**

   Sign in at [app.random-coffee.com/login](https://app.random-coffee.com/login).

2. **Open your profile.**

   Click the profile icon in the top bar of the app, then select "Security" in the "Profile settings" menu.

3. **Enter your current and new password.**

   On the "Change your password" page, fill in "Old password", "New password" and "Confirm new password".

4. **Click "Save".**

   The button becomes active once your new password follows all the rules below.

### Password rules

Your new password must contain:

- 12 characters minimum;
- one lowercase character;
- one uppercase character;
- one number;
- one special character, among `! @ # $ % ^ & *`.

## When your organization asks you to renew your password

Your organization can require members to renew their password regularly. When your password is due, a "Set new password" window opens when you sign in (or when you refresh the page) and you must choose a new password to continue. The same rules apply.

## You cannot access your account
