# Free trial

Try the Pro plan for free, keep it by adding a card, or see what happens when your free trial ends.

The free trial lets you use a paid plan for free, for a limited time. You get everything the plan includes, so you can launch your first programs and see the results with your team. You do not need a credit card to start.

## How the free trial works

When you create your workspace, it starts with a **14-day free trial of the Pro plan**. See [Plans](/admin/billing/plans/) for what the Pro plan includes.

If our team set up your account, your trial can have another length or another plan, such as Enterprise. In that case, the banner at the top of the app shows the number of days left with a "Contact Us" button: contact us to choose your plan before the end of the trial.

Until you add a card, a blue banner at the top of the app shows the end date of your trial, with an "Add a card" button.

The "Billing" tab of "Billing & Plans" also shows "Your free trial ends on", followed by the date and the number of days left.

## Start a free trial from the Free plan

If your workspace is on the Free plan and has never had a free trial or a Pro subscription, you can start one at any time.

1. Open the settings with the gear icon in the header, then click "Billing".
2. In the "Subscription" tab, click "Start 14-day free trial" on the Pro plan.
3. The "Activate your 14 days free trial" window lists what you unlock and the end date of the trial. No credit card is required.
4. Click "Start free trial".

## Keep the Pro plan after your trial

To continue with the Pro plan, add a card before the end of your trial:

- click "Add a card" in the banner;
- or, in the "Billing" tab, click "Add payment method" in the "Payment method" card.

Your subscription then continues automatically when the trial ends, and you are billed according to your number of active members. See [How Pro billing works](/admin/billing/pro-billing/).

A trial that starts when you create your workspace uses monthly billing. A trial started from the Free plan uses the billing cycle selected at the top of the plans ("Monthly" or "Annually"). To switch to annual billing during your trial, click "Switch to Annual" on the Pro plan in the "Subscription" tab, then "Pay Annually". ## What happens at the end of the free trial

If you have not added a card, your workspace moves to the **Free plan** automatically when the trial ends. The Free plan has these limits:

- 1 program;
- 1 administrator;
- 20 people matched in each session, always the same 20, even if you have more active members.

When your workspace moves to the Free plan:

- All your running programs are paused.
- Only the first administrator of the workspace keeps admin access. The others become members.
- The [HRIS integration](/admin/members/sync-from-hris/) stops syncing.

### Choose the program to keep

If you have more than one program, a "Program limit reached" window opens the next time you open the app.

In the same window, you can also click "Upgrade" to subscribe to the Pro plan instead, and keep all your programs. See [Upgrade your plan](/admin/billing/upgrade/).

### Restart your program

The program you keep stays paused. To restart it, [reactivate it](/admin/programs/manage-a-program/#reactivate-a-program), then check its sessions and schedule new ones if needed (see [Schedule sessions](/admin/programs/schedule-sessions/)).
