# Downgrade or cancel your plan

Go back from Pro to the Free plan to cancel your subscription, see what changes, and what happens at the end of an Enterprise contract.

import { Steps } from '@prosefly/astro-components';
import Callout from '@components/Callout.astro';

You can go back from the Pro plan to the Free plan yourself, from your billing settings. This is also how you cancel your Pro subscription. An Enterprise plan cannot be changed during the contract.

## From Pro to Free

### What changes

<Callout type="danger">
  Going back to the Free plan has these consequences:

  - As soon as you confirm, all your running programs are paused, the [HRIS integration](/admin/members/sync-from-hris/) stops syncing, and only the first administrator of the workspace (usually the person who created it) keeps admin access. The others become members.
  - You keep **1 program**: you choose it at the end of your billing period, and all your other programs are deleted.
  - **Only 20 people are matched in each session**, always the same 20, even if you have more members in your workspace.
  - Your subscription stops at the end of the current billing cycle. You are not charged again, and the current billing cycle is not refunded.
  - If you have billing credits, they are not refunded. They stay available if you subscribe to the Pro plan again later.
</Callout>

### Downgrade to the Free plan

<Steps>

1. Open the settings with the gear icon in the header, then click "Billing".
2. In the "Subscription" tab, click "Downgrade" on the Free plan.
3. The "Downgrade to free plan" window lists the features you will lose. Tell us in a few words what is missing or not working for you: the "Downgrade" button is available once you have written something.
4. Click "Downgrade".

</Steps>

The "Billing" tab then shows that your subscription is canceled, with the date of the end of your billing cycle. You can subscribe to the Pro plan again at any time, from the same "Subscription" tab.

### Choose the program to keep

When your billing cycle ends, if you have more than one program, a "Program limit reached" window opens. Under "Select a program to keep:", choose your program, then click "Confirm". All other programs are deleted.

The program you keep stays paused. To restart it, [reactivate it](/admin/programs/manage-a-program/#reactivate-a-program), then check its sessions and schedule new ones if needed (see [Schedule sessions](/admin/programs/schedule-sessions/)).

<Callout type="warning">
  We do not issue refunds on a billing cycle that has started. To avoid being charged for a new cycle, downgrade to the Free plan before it starts.

  If you only need to stop RandomCoffee for a while, [pause your programs](/admin/programs/manage-a-program/#pause-a-program) instead.
</Callout>

### During a free trial

If you downgrade during a free trial, your trial ends right away and your workspace moves to the Free plan. See [Free trial](/admin/billing/free-trial/).

## From Enterprise to Pro

<Callout type="note">

</Callout>

At the end of your contract, your workspace moves to the **Free plan**. Our team then guides you to set up your Pro plan yourself, from your billing settings (see [Upgrade your plan](/admin/billing/upgrade/)).

As on any move to the Free plan, the first administrator of the workspace remains the **only administrator**: the others lose their admin access.

At the end of your contract, your invoice is available in RandomCoffee, and sent to you by email.
